Description
Introduced in 2018 by MMA champion Conor McGregor, Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey is a tribute to his Dublin 12 upbringing. This triple-distilled blend combines fine grain and single malt whiskeys, aged for at least four years in ex-bourbon barrels. The result is a smooth and complex spirit with aromas of baked apple, ripe berries, and honey. On the palate, it delivers flavors of vanilla, honey, and toasted wood, leading to a warm finish. Proper No. Twelve can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in cocktails. The brand has also introduced a flavored variant, Proper No. Twelve Irish Apple, which infuses the original whiskey with natural apple flavors. In 2021, McGregor and his partners sold their majority stake in the brand to Proximo Spirits. However, in late 2024, following legal controversies involving McGregor, major retailers and establishments, including Tesco and Dublin and Cork airports, removed Proper No. Twelve products from their offerings.
