Description
Introduced in 1947, Ruffino Riserva Ducale Oro was created to commemorate an exceptional vintage and has since become a benchmark for Chianti Classico Gran Selezione wines. Produced only in select vintages, this wine is crafted from hand-harvested, estate-grown grapes, primarily Sangiovese, from Ruffino’s Gretole property in Castellina in Chianti. The wine undergoes a meticulous aging process of 36 months in a combination of oak, stainless steel, and concrete, enhancing its complexity and depth. On the palate, it reveals vibrant red fruit flavors, dark cherry, tobacco, and evocative forest notes, complemented by a well-balanced acidity and firm tannins. The bouquet offers distinctive Tuscan aromas of violet, cherry, and plum, with accents of chocolate and cinnamon.
